I want to learn about algorithms + FP- would it make more sense to do a traditional algorithms class 1st or go straight to functional algs?

I'm not much of a book person when it comes to programming, but I heard good things about this book [ES-hazy memory]
in fact I have no books to recommend, I learned it all from practice, wikipedia, blogs and papers

oh, I did read Coders at Work though, which is a good book if you're in the profession, great practical advice
