I think D&G do a great analysis of errors of abstraction when they talk of statements both too abstract and not abstract enough.

Ahh. Well I don't see how abstraction errors are limited to democracy, plenty of mismanagement by monarchies.

My point was more so that democracy itself is an error of abstraction and is "functions" closer to a disastrous monarchy.

Only when your state of order is a monarchy. The thing about the entropic view is that choice of ordered state is arbitrary.

No because increasing order relies on a selection mechanism. Democracy selects for effective propaganda above all.

Realistically it also selects for economical success. The guys in the parliament are not necessarily those who run things.
