Thinking about it, Philosophy is basically a standardization profess for thinking and mental models of the world.

just as there numerous incompatible and contradicting standards for many many things. Even tech.

Well yeah. But then there's also exploration and method (way fuzzier than the scientific method but I'd argue it's there).

Anyway, what I meant to say was: there are so many models as to make calling them standards meaningless. No unifying force.
