It is faster to run the twitter web interface with a debugger on the side, GC'ing tweets manually, than running it vanilla.

To which I would like to say: You need at least one dev to develop on something slower than a newest gen i7, or your site will be DOG SLOW.

Built a site on an old AMD Sempron once. Experienced friend who tested for me was like "omg I didn't know JS based sites could be so fast".

Developing on that toaster, I felt the pain instantly when my code was being slow. So I optimized all the stupid and slow parts out.
