Which Idiot thought it was a good idea to make systemd a dependency of the Xorg server core binary?

And it doesn't matter if its systemd or libsystemd, It's a dependency against something being part of the systemd project.

As I understand it, libsystemd is a shim and therefore relatively harmless. Could be wrong though.

libsystemd is developed as part of systemd (its sources are in the systemd repository).

And there is no sane reason whatsoever why the X server should interact with systemd/logind at all.

The only reason for a X server to interact with logind is for seat management. But that was better be done by containers anyway.

Would require device namespaces though, but instead of developing that further another userspace kludge is made.
