(one magical criticism would be, "no of course it's not simple, you need to tell a whole story for the thing to work, you can't just utter alohomora and expect results, that's fantasy book drivel" - and other schools would have other issues with it)
incidentally in the potter books, the patronus and the unbreakable vow are much closer to 'actual' spells, they have proper ritual behind them instead of wand waving
