How do you tell if you're a fictional character in a novel: people around you shake their heads as if to clear them. Nobody does this in the real world but fiction is full of it google.com/search?tbm=bks

I do this, it's somewhat effective at disrupting thoughts, especially embarrassing ones. it doesn't clear my head as much as it flushes the cache though.
