A problem with a lot of sperg writing (moldbug, FP, etc) is that they are written like a log of findings and arguments. No conclusion is introduced without first providing _all_ supporting evidence and asides.
It's linear and requires the reader to keep everything said in mind.

I suspect it's specifically a programmer/mathematician failing, because if you're either then you're very familiar with putting definitions first and also don't mind delaying the gratification of the conclusion
