Wokeness is more interesting than detractors or supporters suppose. An aspect I haven't seen anyone comment on:
Taking woke theory at face value it would predict that wokeness will be subverted and used as a tool of power no?
I recently read "Situated Knowledges: The Science Question in Feminism and the Privilege of Partial Perspective" and it pretty explicitly states that knowledge is a tool of power, and proposes a new kind of knowledge that is structurally more feminist (meaning, bureaucratic)
the basic idea is, situated knowledge is not about impersonal facts (which have coevolved with the existing power structure and are therefore patriarchic) but about questions filtered through a (however defined) body of people
which, to be fair, does represent some kinds of knowledge better, but moves epistemic authority from any single person's understanding to the hivemind's, and encodes an ostensibly feminist but really just bureaucratic power structure
yeah, it's not really subversion for theory to be used as a tool for power, (monopoly of) knowledge as the way power justifies and legitimates itself is one of the main insights of woke theory
main original insights*
"power bad" is a mischaracterization that just happens to be massively effective in practice, easily spread and guaranteed to elicit the correct emotional response and mobilize people who have christian/secular values to action
