whitequark's safety tip: never store hazardous chemicals in PET bottles. doubly-never store them in PET bottles with their original food labels still on. someone's going to be tired and distracted and take a swig of acetone, or something worse

when I was 12 or so, I mixed 50% (?) citric acid from a family friend's fridge into my orange juice because I thought it was water, it was in a special bottle but that didn't stop me

I thought "hmm that's some sour orange juice" and added more, and while I was puzzling over it, the mentioned family friend came and snatched the bottle away from me no injuries were sustained but if you want to keep stuff safe, keep it in a separate fridge I guess
