Eh. They comply because they won't fight the case that while the lyrics he sang may be copyrighted, it still falls under fair use. It's not, in any way, a replacement for the original work and is such a tiny percentage of the whole video that it's f**ked they get all the revenue
It's not fair use. Fair use doesn't cover what you think it does and YouTube won't win that court battle. 'replacement of original work' is just one aspect. The fact the video is monetised means fair use won't hold as well, plus length doesn't matter.
