..be reached through text was not lost on us but given the ease and the fact that any age adult within Boston housing units in low-income housing would be eligible to get the vaccine we decided to launch with the first wave of texts. This resulted in a few dozen sign-ups.

Next wave was a phone banking session where physicians, medical students, and folks from the community called residents of our target low income housing units directly and had one-on-one convos about the upcoming vaccination day in the recreation center of their building.pic.twitter.com/z89e0ColXk

On Friday, we spent the day going from one low-income housing unit complex to the next with teams of physicians and medical students going floor to floor answering questions and escorting patients individually downstairs to get vaccinated in the lobby.pic.twitter.com/JNaUc1OCrc

With plenty of help from Boston Housing Authority staff we were able to help this population of folks, many of whom would likely have not not otherwise been vaccinated get the vaccine the easiest way possible. We also had the capacity to directly bring the vaccine to residents..

..rooms if they were not mobile or could otherwise not be mobilized to come downstairs. In all, we were able to help 200+ people get vaccinated in their own apartment complex effectively removing the majority of the barriers for this population.pic.twitter.com/UBs8WaI6rv

Favorite story of the day: Michael who lived in the community and worked as a USPS driver was on his way to deliver to a package to the unit.
