I can guess at some of the reasons, but I agree, it's mighty strange.

I just find if bizarre that they think a middle-aged white guy has more of a keen interest in social/ policy issues that concern black Canadians than an actual Jamaican-immigrant who built up her career in a white-dominated field, as a single mother, now running for leader.

There’s no such a thing like “black candidate” of “white candidate” or “brown candidate”! Those adjectives denoting candidates are totally racist. We only have Canadian candidates.

Then why does the Association of Black Conservatives exist? To quote them, to "promote conservative values and civic engagement in the Black Community". Therefore, they should endorse a leader who does precisely that.

I would say because Leslyn Lewis has said she would exit the UN Global Compact for Migration & tighten borders whereas Erin O'Toole is a total Globalist & will run immigration similar to Justin Trudeau.
