    the paper says that fare increases tend to push down hourly earnings because it reduces utilization---more drivers chasing fewer trips. Drivers posting prices is a very different matching mechanism. What it does isn't really clear to me yet.

    Read on Uber letting (some) drivers set (some) fares. I've supported this as a power shift from Uber's price-fixing & price discrimination to driver control, but ultimately, taxi systems need regulated fares, as we've learned over and over.
