Then this leads them to a having a picture of the world or a projection of this bitterness directed towards other people and their relationships which the individual feels really about himself.

Blaming the actions of others for his short comings, he needed to justify his life by demonstrating they are to blame for where he is at in life. Inventing bullshit stuff up and spending most of his energy to vent his angry frustrations.
