I've wanted to curate adult Sex Ed classes & content for years because of all of this. There's so much people don't know about bodies, consent, relationships, boundaries, attraction, pleasure, or desire. Purity cultures really fuck people up even if these cultures are unnamed.

Like most things, LGBTQ affirmation isn't binary - it's much more complicated than that. And I say that from a place of knowing in my own journey. Well before I knew I was queer or was affirming myself, I worked to love LGBTQ folks by doggedly defending their rights & care.

I'm going to push back on this using an example from my life. My mom isn't affirming & made that clear when I was dating my now-wife but she works hard to love us well. Came to our wedding. Buys us queer couple cards. Prays for our needs. But she had to work to get here.
