Very good piece by Dr Pushpo Babul Hossain on the financial and personal penalties paid by the many thousands of overseas healthcare workers propping up Britain's understaffed and overstretched NHS.

but NHS staff of overseas origin cannot rent/get a driving license/get loans/jobs/right to work without having biometric residence permit despite having lived in UK for years and regularly paying taxes! condemns this and has campaigned for IMGs.

Piece by me in today's FT on how cronyism poisons workplace relations and destroys trust. Thanks to and others for sharing their stories and and Blaine Landis on why cronyism comes naturally.

If everyone who has been grateful for NHS staff over the last two years followed and retweeted, we would reach a million in no time. It will only take a few seconds, and your support would really mean a lot to a huge number of people who continue to fight Covid-19.

Do hope you succeed in this - basic protection for medical workers (any frontline workers) shouldn't even be an issue.

Really sad to read this piece about the continuing post-Brexit fallout for school trips to the UK. Especially sad for towns like mine, language schools and home-stays are such a big part of Eastbourne's identity - a huge loss for Britain.

It is day 18 of Richard Ratcliffe’s hunger strike outside the Foreign Office. I promised him that I would do my best to make the photo I took of him today go viral. It is an intolerable situation for him to be in. Please retweet if you can and help to
