It's good, but you can get the Ruger Precision in the same calibers for less money and it shoots 1 MOA.
-
SKS is also a really good pig rifle. Classic gun for under $500. Ammo is decently cheap.
-
I've never owned rifle tbh so I'm mostly skimming reviews and picking things to investigate further based on aesthetics

I own quite a few. If it is legitimately a defensive-use thing, go semi-auto. Target could be moving and a miss with a bolt-action is very costly.
-
Ruger Mini-14 might work per your apparent aesthetics choices. The right load can still kill hogs, but you won't have to worry about sending lead into the stratosphere because .223 is also decently frangible inside houses/apartments.

Have always heard positive things about Sako. In a 6.5lb rifle, I’d prob go for 6.5 Swede over .300 WinMag.
