You’re both glossing over the issues with Harry Potter people. Pretty much everyone who’s read Brave New World has also read 1984, and vice-versa. So they’ve been exposed to contrasting takes. Not necessarily so with Potter fans. Also, it’s a series of children’s books.

I've really been working on this, tbh. Everytime I do it, I cringe a little, and have to do "I know this an overused reference, but..." disclaimer.
-
The solution is start shaming anyone who references anything other than the Golden Age of Sci-fi
-
But not the main novels. Only obscure short stories from compilations ten people have read.
