here's a foreign policy: warfare gives our youth something to do other than rebel, settling them on conquered land makes them proud stakeholders in society without pesky economic reform

the death is very tragic and all, but on the other hand it leads to a more favorable gender balance for the men left over, which lends itself to stability and contentedness

what we have now is a bunch of policy dipshits and politicians with no personal stake pushing forward the whole enterprise because of feelings, electability, whatever

the whole thing ends up being an accounting trick where we go overseas and kill a million people as an excuse to shunt money to favored contractors
