Randomly, have you visited Austin Bouldering Project? great free weights gym there thrown in, plus yoga. If you're not too far north that is.

The people there have a fascinating mix of approaches. Some really know what they're doing with weights or kettlebells, or practice Ido Portal-style bodyweight stuff. Some are squatting on bosu balls.
