but at the same time the world only really seems legible through the prism of narrative, there is of course an underlying "reality" but it isn't directly accessible

I’ve fantasized about a TVTropes-style analysis of political narratives. There may be only a couple dozen primordial plot lines—possibly innate, as adaptations for chimpanzee troupe social dynamics.
