so far I've spent ten minutes reading an ocaml for haskellers syntax cheatsheet and three hours reading arguments about the various stdlibs and ad hoc polymorphism proposals

no I just want haskell but permitting enough impurity to do normal computer things without requiring insane structural patterns like transformer stacks

rust and ocaml don't really have much in way of overlapping domain though (and what you want is far better describing ocaml, yes)
