breitbart sorta does but it's incoherent, and as an outlet it's more akin to like vox or alternet than the grey lady--it's not an institution)

Yeah I dunno. Citizen Kane was not just an indictment of Tycoons like Hearst, but the whole industry in my opinion. His Declaration of Principles reads more like Pulitzer than Hearst.
-
The fact that Citizen Kane’s warning was never seriously heeded by journalism and interpreted as a smear on conservatives when Pulitzer was just as much a purveyor or Yellow Journalism as Hearst is one of the reasons we’re here IMO.
-
The righty media has been shitposting long before the term had meaning. Before there was Alex Jones, there was Limbaugh, and he was/is a normie shitposter par excellence.NYT, etc have lived in a made up world in which left wing journalism is not yellow. Right normies don’t buy it
-
There is nothing serious about NYT or NPR. There’s the pretense of accuracy, but the medium of journalism’s attachment to currency renders it incapable of making good. They have evolved a complex protocol of “journalistic integrity” but is only an edifice.
-
Journalism is a centralized crony-capitalist exercise in legitimizing gossip as an art form and profession. Kane = Hearst = Pulitzer = Woodward/Bernstein. There are no sacred cows or statesmen here. Just Gossip Columnists with deadlines and bills to pay.
