i resolve the LW things by noting they're arbitrary trolley problems, and invoke one of my fondest aphorisms, which is that IRL there are no trolley problems; IRL is always the Kobayashi Maru. trolley problems are ways for people to excuse not traversing the search space better

Usually there are no trolley problems IRL, but sometimes there are. For example, R v Dudley and Stephens. For another example, war from the point of view of a commanding officer.

there literally are no binary choices IRL, we do not act at the level of selecting, like, which electron spin or whatever. trolley problems are a cognitive antipattern
