I'm really fussy about how orchestras play compositions I like, this one gets the speed right and has the right mix of delicate/sweeping, not too tinny or flourishy, etc

Can't go wrong with Vivaldi. I love finding new classical. Such a treat. Might I suggest The Moldau, from Smetana's Ma Vlast? It's at least as sweeping as Vivaldi's work.

I adore ma vlast. die moldau is amazing, vysehrad underappreciated by many!

You have wonderful taste!
The version I have is by Rafæl Kubelik, conducting the Czech Philharmonic orchestra. I think Vltava is my favourite, but the entire album is just magical. I'm going to listen to it now, in fact!
