Reflections on the first day of my #sonyagoescarnivore experiment:
1) I'd forgotten how good things taste after being fried in butter. Steak, shrimp, and salmon so far.
2) My usual eating is very comfort-driven. Things like cream in my coffee and a sugary treat after dinner...

Yep, I'm trying out the
@bitstein diet (or at least a close approximation) I wrote about this being a mini trend among bitcoin maximalists a little while backhttps://www.inc.com/sonya-mann/bitcoin-carnivores.html … -
it's weird sometimes how closely reality lines up with C Stross's Laundry Series, the premise of which is that certain kinds of math allow one access to a sort of lovecraftian magic. Rendering certain fractals, evaluating certain formula, etc all have spooky effects.

What then are we to make of the devotees of a global act of computation all becoming carnivores? To whom is their work being proved (or perhaps, tithed)? What's bitcoin summoning? It's a fun source of thematic mappings that does for info tech what fairy tales do for forests

common thread is energy cost of proof of work and raising livestock, bitcoin in climate change accelerationism!!

Actually, Bitcoin carnivory is very ecologically friendly.https://twitter.com/bitstein/status/939541238696562688 …
