finally got my editing workflow down to perfection
the only way to improve this would be if the reading copy auto-refreshed but that would require vimscript or writing my own editor probably

(I do think about writing my own editor more often than is safe)

basically I'd want standard vi plus: full undo tree, gracefully handle arbitrarily large files, vim buffers, new mode to manage views xmonad-style

alternatively, one can write in TeX and use latexmk -pvc for automatic recompilation

TeX is a rite of passage I have still yet to pass

can you run a web browser in another window and have it re-render when the file changes (using inotify or something)?
-
Every time I am forced to trust a web browser for editing, though, I cringe & wish for an Emacs or Vi instead :)
-
I just meant for render previews; you'd still be editing in vim
-
hm yea I guess such a thing would require nothing more than a websever, a while loop, and a few lines of css
