it's just going to be another huge disappointment but it's nice to think about
or maybe not "a" politician's (short-sighted, avaricious, cowardly) but what it seems he is going for

he has a limited amount of time to demonstrate himself as effective and powerful and a limited amount of leverage to do it

after he has shown himself worthy and built up clout for his actions rather than his promise he can maybe widen scope

if breaking parliament and gutting labor laws go well then maybe could pivot to "cleaning up the streets"
