april fools is the cinco de mayo of the internet
they break federation with instances that don't abide their rules I have heard
-
-
anyway the bulk of the userbase seems even more insufferable than gab's and that's saying a lot
-
it's a very different place today than it was last week
-
i've been enjoying it so far; there are readable conversations happening there, which seems to get less true on twtr with each passing day
-
I've become enamored by the riotousness of twitter, I just wish they'd stop banning my friends
-
I love the technical aspects of it. Federated, longer char limit, threading that works... But yeah. I'd get banned in a heartbeat.
-
I'm probably going to end up my own instance. I'm prob going to also end up rewriting the backend
-
a) b/c I've had to maintain rails apps before and I'm not touching that stove again and b) AGPL
-
right now if you make changes to their rails code on your instance you're required to publish them
