sf is a late-stage case but most of the country is like this, corruption graft capture etc etc may be structural issues or broad moral failings but either way point to a decaying society
Agreed. My take: they’re both structural and moral, and self-reinforcing. The structural causes are due to democracy, and incentivize individual politicians towards corruption.
