the "america first" position takes the "liberal international community" framing at face value and concludes it is a bad deal in how much each party brings to the table

the easiest way to counter this imo is to drop the "international community/first among equals" framing, admit to the empire, and properly run it like an empire

liberalism on the international stage is incoherent without westphalianism. the "nationalists" want a return to westphalianism
