I punched it down, put it in the fridge, found a youtube video about punching down brioche, took it back out of the fridge and did it like the video

Hope your brioche is lovely. For future reference, you can do a long ferment, and mostly relax. 5 minutes to mix, let it be overnight, bake in the morning. Or pick your schedule. My Bread by Jim Lahey, of Sullivan St. Bakery. its the way to go.
