Going on my third winter with these Frye combat boots and I still can't walk more than a mile in them without taping up my heels
disappointing for sure

I paid $200 for boots I thought I would live in for 10+ years, instead they tear me up

Maybe
@RedWingShoes ?I've enjoyed my Iron Rangers (though they're not a combat boot) and they offer resoling if they get worn down (at a pretty inexpensive price imho).1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
Like I've walked up Berkeley hills in them and felt great. I only stopped wearing them now because my heels wore so I need to get them repaired (which I plan to do soonish).

Yeah I know Red Wing is a favorite. There's also a company in Oregon that makes custom boots, too. I just don't want to shell out more money when my current boots should be lasting years.
