In particular, an androgynous character is bullied by football players and a demon about their appearance. The same demon refers to a gay man as a "Sodomite" and throws around the word "Abomination."

It's definitely used by Bad characters and not sold as behavior supported by the show itself. But it's there.

As someone who has and will definitely continue to be bullied about their appearance/gender, I haven't been bothered by it yet. I think because the character in question has friends who love them for who they are.

But if you're feeling a bit fragile right now, you might want to look elsewhere.

I’m noticing that happening a lot more in shows. I have a theory — the bullying is pleasurable to the core audience, and allows the genuinely QUILTBAG audience to be strung along in the hopes that it’ll be addressed, which it never will be. Hope-Baiting, as it were.

I'm not even 10min in and I'm mad at the teacher. Generally to everyone: if you see someone who appears to be the victim of a violent crime, don't clean them up. The police need to gather evidence first. That's a terrible thing, I know, but so is a crime unpunished.

20min in and I'm angry at another character again. This show might not be for me. The only thing saving it right now is the main character knows what's up.
