What aspect of the surprised reactions of men was sufficient to consume your thoughts years later? Was that aspect not present in the surprised reactions of the women you told?

Why do you think the men were surprised and the women weren't?

Because I am genuinely interested as to why a gender as a whole would have a bias towards Google over GitHub.

It's more like, "women had/have access to backchannels of information that men don't because the men don't have to worry about these sorts of concerns."

Is my reading of this correct? Initial gif => "I feel good about my choices and am flaunting it ostentatiously", "had/have access to backchannels of information that men don't" => "privilege", translates to "divisive identity + privilege politics tweet with incendiary intentions"
