My Twitter break was extremely good for my mental and physical health, mostly because I wasn't staring at a constant stream of pain all day. So, something has to change. (Cont'd)

But I don't know of anything like that. And I don't want to exchange my Twitter feed for a mainstream news subscription. Too much is erased.

Does anyone have any suggestions here? A source of news that will expose me to stories on Indigenous history or the prison strikes or Black women being so woefully underserved by our medical system. Something I can consume on my schedule and not in a feed format.

Because my Twitter newsfeed is literally making me sick

Depending on the quantity of tweets involved you could (if you use RSS for other reasons) have a Twitter folder and then subscribe to those people with https://docs.rsshub.app/en/#twitter to read them at a later date. Not a digest, but a bit closer to visiting all of the site.

I do this by keeping a private shortlist. I can read the whole thing for a day in about 15 mins.

I hacked together a script at one point that used the Twitter API to generate an RSS feed. That worked reasonably well for me. Could probably do the same to generate a semi-daily email. Was a fun weekend hack, anyway.

Is RSS and option, are you willing to self-host, and would you like to change specific words like President to, I don't know, Commander in Dumbass? The news website project we've previously discussed might work for you:https://github.com/dev-dull/xkcd_news …

Honestly I've had an idea for a social network that works like this and only allows one post a day
