With great respect to
@aliShihabi I think the brutal murder, planned for days in Riyadh, of a 59 year old journalist, a mild critic of the Crown Prince, by 15 State officials, inside a diplomatic office, which is being covered up, is more serious than bodyguards throwing punches. -
So according to you, what determines whether or not to extradite is 1) seriousness of the incident and 2) number of days it took planning it and 3) age of the victim. VCLT is no longer relevant and should rather be replaced by Bill Neely's own law of treaties.
-
Hi Faisal. The behaviour of the bodyguards was appalling. Criminal in my opinion. But 1. It’s a totally separate case. 2. It has nothing to do with Riyadh. 3. The murder of a journalist by Saudi nationals in a Consulate is legally more serious. Not my rules. The law.
-
Hi Bill. Seems we're in agreement except for the extradition part. I have faith in the Saudi judicial system. Public Prosecution should go for capital punishment provided the premeditation part is proved.
-
No extradition. The crime was on Saudi soil. The big question is capital punishment of whom?
-
The Saudi PP should be able to answer that once they conclude the investigation.

I am an American....but assault is not murder. You sound pathetic.

Who said anything to the contrary?! Both deserve punishment equal to the crime. The point here is the extradition request.

Even if he does that, he doesn't have the proper basis for an extradition request. The consulate is under Saudi sovereignty and the parties involved are all Saudi Arabians.
-
Not really. Read the vienna accord.

Which Article are you referring to? Keep in mind the Turks leaked claims that they have recordings of what transpired inside!

Yes! Let the Saudi face justice in their own “ independent” courts.

Even if Erdagon does an Egyptian belly dance he's not going to get his hands on Saudi intelligence officials. These guys have way too much secret information to be just given to another country.
