And of course, the idea behind react, SwiftUI etc. is that you tear down the skyscraper every time you turn the lights on or off…

I wonder if iOS developers take the time to make their apps restore themselves correctly after process death?

In idiomatic Swift, it's generally frowned upon to use Optional collections, because nil and empty are semantically equivalent, so it's redundant to allow both. But an exception to this is when dealing with serializable data. It's generally undesirable to write an empty array or

I’ve never used singletons a whole lot but early in my iOS journey I bought the “singletons are bad” idea and now dependency injection and no singletons has made my code a right mess. I’ve come full circle and am embracing singletons again.

PL safety features and people imposing them kill all the joy of programming. Here’s a great example:

This is hilarious. A Norwegian TV programme pitted some professional stock-pickers against an astrologist, some beauty bloggers and - i kid you not - cows shitting in a field. (short thread).

There's nothing wrong with you if you can't stand pair programming as a day-in-day-out approach to software development. I love the occasional pairing, but I'd rather quit programming than do it all day, every day.

This explains what has been bugging me when designing iOS apps with for a while. I love finding little solutions! Devs will appreciate it too.

So, over the holiday break I had an app rejected by App Review because it had entitlements I wasn’t using. I removed them, uploaded a new build, got the exact same rejection. Asked for clarification, got a brush-off. Submitted a technical support request, they said it wasn’t 1/

“My boss invited me for a one-on-one chat where they politely asked me to revert my change. I was aghast. The old code was a mess, and mine was clean! I begrudginly complied, but it took me years to see they were right.”

Odgovor korisnicima i sljedećem broju korisnika:

Thread: I've worked with Dagger1, 2, Koin and in many reflection based DI before. Koin is imho the best, D2 the worst. D2 is overengineered, it's designed for very few huge codebases and you can feel this in his complexity.
