Of course, we would still need to replace the gas with renewables before the gas runs out, but that would give technology time to adapt batteries for better storage for use in far away cities with low light! #CaliforniaWildfires

https://futurism.com/ic-1101-the-largest-galaxy-ever-found/ … This galaxy contains 1 trillion
stars and extends 2 million light years from it's core. Additional life in the universe is a mathimatical certainty. Life isn't exceptional, Humans might be! That is why we won't allow ourselves to be destroyed....

The key to removing dependency on coal is to put renewable energy sources in traditional mining districts & work with miners to retrain them for new green jobs. A huge transition training programme must be launched in USA to secure income in those communities.
-
You put renewable generators where the renewable sources are best. Best sun, best wind. Miners need a just transition, but not by putting renewable generators in poor sites.
-
Obviously I'm not an expert in renewables but we have to involve everyone in the green energy revolution and leave no one behind.

Rooftop solar can be a big job creator all over the country, if there is support and promotion for it. Also retrofit insulation, energy efficiency.

Sounds fantastic.

I would hope wind and solar are cheaper, since they're not reliable and must be backed up usually by fossil fuels.
-
Typical solar panel warranties are 25 years and many have been running over 50 years. Our backup is batteries and that technology is steadily advancing. Where I live the panel/battery/inverter system produces higher quality power then we can get from the old fossil powered grid.
-
Link please to "..many have been running over 50 years.." Please give me the oscilloscope graph showing that an inverter output has a purer sinewave than a dynamo with inertia in the rotor, thanks.
