    The carmakers are reneging on a fair deal – in order to be bailed out by taxpayers, they agreed to strong emissions standards. Following through on this deal is critical to responding to the urgent threat of the climate crisis & ensuring that carmakers compete in future markets.

    I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend, Nancy McFadden. She was an extraordinary public servant whose wise counsel I relied upon for much of the last 25 years, including when she was my invaluable Deputy Chief of Staff in the White House. I will miss her deeply.
