Rewrite project report, day 7: I missed day 6, because I took Monday off. Chris spent the day looking at existing tests. He came away gloomy. We started out today in a fairly bleak place overall.
Speaking as someone who spent the last twelve months working on .NET Core projects on Linux: aren't you leaving behind a lot of good Windows tooling (memory dumps, profilers, etc.) that don't have an equivalent on Linux for .NET?

Probably. However the company has zero people left who know how to use any of those tools & little interest in investing in them. The cost of running on Windows appears not to be worth it. Also, the code base *must* be retired. It is, no way to be polite about this, bad.
