Some people interpreted my comments yesterday as "open source projects don't need to have roadmaps". No, I don't mean that. Roadmaps are helpful for everyone. Often when users ask "is this on the roadmap" they want to know when to expect the thing they need to get built.

If an open source project doesn't have a written roadmap, it's reasonable for you to ask if there is interest in creating one. I just think you should be careful about the "Are we there yet?" questions.
