      Interesting...it’s clearly a very fine margin the UK is working with. I dearly hope it works. However, I still don’t get the rationale for not cancelling *major* public events e.g. concerts, sports matches. Surely there’s no downside to that?

      Disagree there is no downside to that! Those are investments for the future, which our society depend on in the long-term (imagine they had canceled all the conferences for the last 10 years - do you think that would have no bad effects today?).

          But in effect one is weighing human lives against the economy. I’m not saying it’s an easy call to make - and after all economy also equals lives in the bigger picture - but it’s clear this is dangerous territory.
