One should not think of envy as something voluntary - indeed envious people suffer quite a bit for it. It might, however, be something you can choose to lean in or not, so a degree of conscious control is possible. I've always felt nerds have less envy relative to neurotypicals.

Envy could emerge in many alternate ways too. As a vulnerable example, I have envied you at times because we are both writers about similar topics and you have thus far (seemingly) been more successful. I think it’s normal for people who try very hard to accomplish things.

That makes sense :) I envy your music! - have you tried using a subpac? It's a medium where you can render music in body vibration. Nobody has looked into how to compose for it specifically, though there are some songs made with it in mind. What would you do with it? :D
