Bike lanes are NOT for vehicle parking. It is bad enough when someone blocks them for deliveries. But when a tractor trailer truck driver just thinks he can use them for parking when he wants a break from driving and does it in a busy downtown and idles his engine for hours… 😵💫

Not cool, . For a company that touts itself as being all about safety this is both disrespectful and unsafe. Here’s the rear of that truck again, and the license plate. Please do better

This truck, owned by driveswift.com, blocked the Wayne Avenue bike lanes while I watched users like a guy on a scooter, have to go around, in the rain, into traffic. So THIS GUY could just idle and sweep his truck for more than an hour

So this guy. I came upon him, parked blocking the bike lanes on Wayne today. Note: to do this he had to ignore the posts blocking both ends and drive OVER the barriers. And then he idled for more than an hour while he apparently napped and used a broom to sweep his cab out.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.
But seriously says the lady that does not drink— what is bad about that? I don’t want anyone driving drunk so 🤷♀️

Make the most of those who live there. Make more people want to live there by making your city truly great. Make it affordable too. Otherwise people will just leave for other cities that are doing it better

My opinion: the cities that let go of the idea that office workers can be forced to come back — and that will somehow fix everything will be set back. Get over it, move on to the new reality and make the most of it. “Forcing” people back will not make them love your city

The "Arlington Miracle" is stunning:
Traffic counts in Arlington, VA fell to 1980s levels, after peaking in 2000, as the city added walkable neighborhood retail shops + tens of thousands of residents in Orange Line skyscrapers

In new research , I examine the location of transit stations in the US.
Only 8% of US housing units are within 1 km of a rail or BRT station. This figure is roughly the same as in 1970—despite the addition of >1,000 light rail stops.
