When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. When the only future you're creative enough to imagine is violence, every better solution calls for violent oppression.pic.twitter.com/kMpjDzeDSY

Are you this stupid all the time or is it just about this topic in particular? It's about law enforcement as a whole...which goes above, but doesn't exclude, police. In many others places they don't have "heavier police oppression" yet these things don't happen. Wonder why?

Sure then I read about it. "I now explain why using force against people who wish to use intoxicants inevitably harms them, harms the general public, and harms the legal system. " https://scholarship.law.georgetown.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1837&context=facpub …

You're still missing the point...law enforcement as a whole. Goes from police to Attorney General, including judges, laws, legislation, by-laws, governors...if law enforcement as a whole is weak, things like these ones happen.

Paul Retweeted John Hamasaki
In this land of mass incarceration where the average american commits three felonies a day and is inherently illegal, discretion is central to our DA's role. I

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA "this land of mass incarceration" dear lord you've probably never even lived in a different country. I come from a country where mass incarceration is actually a thing, stop being a snowflake and start standing up for what's needed.

We have the highest rate of incarceration in the history of man, more people and a greater percentage of our population than the nazi's did in germany at heir peak or the soviets in russia. No one has ever incarcerated like we do.pic.twitter.com/DjXzWHb6eY

The US population (328M)is roughly 5x larger than the UK (66M) and almost 30X than Portugal (10M).The rate of incarceration between the UK and US seems to be consistent but Portugal is higher.

Although only 1/25 people live in the US we have 1/5 of the prisoners the greatest per capita number in history. Orders of magnitude higher per capita than any of our first world peers.pic.twitter.com/9FvpNLp6yZ
