Taking no deal off the table, i.e. getting an extension, is just what Johnson/Cummings want, so GE can be the people vs parliament. But there's no other sure way of stopping a crash out.

Does it even need to be a pact to make Corbyn PM? It just needs Labour to form a minority Government for 1-2 weeks, with a confidence and supply agreement on just two policies: extending Article 50 and voting for a general election.

He needs a majority in order to pass those two things, to do so without would only put him in the exact same position that Johnson is trapped in now
