Not tweeting a link to that ridiculous fashion piece from the WSJ advising people who work at home not to wear sweatpants and instead to buy a load of expensive crap to wear in your own home including $4k earrings and a $3k bag, because it’s obvious clickbait, but COME ON.

Loads of downsides to working for yourself - no pension, no holiday pay, huge admin, social isolation, etc etc. One of the upsides is that you get to wear whatever the hell you like. You will only delight/horrify yourself and the occasional delivery person.

Sweatpants? Yes. Ballgown? Why not. Sweatpants and ballgown? Well, it is cold out there. Swansdown g-string and sequinned pasties? I assume it is less cold where you are. Smart suit because it puts you in the right mindset? Sure. Victorian diving suit? Go on with your bad self.

That sounds lovely! Whatever you’re comfortable in. I assume just the cashmere smoking jacket, nothing else.

I always imagine you beaverimg away at your screen in a full-length silk taffeta gown and elegant sky-high stilettos.

I totally buy into the idea of getting dressed, but if you need the stuff to be expensive, you’re broken.
