    Without Black women there would be no Democratic party: decent people would have no voice. They are the heart & soul of the party; they HAVE BEEN since women were granted suffrage. It’s long past time their voices were heard & their value acknowledged.

    When was the last time you signed a contract without reading it? This is not a democracy. A democracy does not take a vote on a bill that hasn't been read. All 52 Senators should be ashamed and removed from office.

    literally all 52 Rs voted against letting Senators read the new tax code before voting on it.

    Yes and why telling ALL of our stories is so important NOW is to combat the loud, angry voices in power who would want to push all the other beautiful stories (unlike theirs) back into the shadows, never to be seen or heard from again.

    I wish the NYT & other news media would stop calling Social Security & Medicare "entitlements." Millions of Americans worked for decades & paid in for decades to receive Social Security & Medicare. It would be better to call them "social insurance" or "old age insurance" programs

    The victory on tax cuts was only the first step. Conservative leaders say the next target will be cuts to entitlements like Medicare.
